Supporting Major Scottish Roads Infrastructure Project

Coneworx provided Fugro – the world’s leading provider of geo-intelligence and asset integrity services – with a range of traffic management services during critical exploratory ground investigations.

The Challenge

Fugro required several traffic management services for three separate ground investigation projects. The work took six months to complete and required significant traffic management resources, fast response times and 24 hour site maintenance. Services included high and low speed lane closures, 2/3/4 way traffic signals, Stop & Go and permanent crash barrier removal and reinstatement.

The Solution

Coneworx worked closely with BEAR Scotland – A9 trunk road operator – to design a practical plan to facilitate the highly specialised ground investigations required prior to construction of the new road. In addition to providing ten, two man traffic teams and several vehicles, Coneworx accommodated their staff in strategic locations close to the site to ensure the contractor’s requirements were always met and traffic continued to flow on this vital arterial route.
